Week 6: Will Eisner

Well, here's mister big, influential Will Eisner. He made works like The Spirit and A Contract with God, and allegedly his work established the graphic novel as a form of literature.


OK, even at this size, I'll grant you that looks pretty cool.

Week 6: Julie Doucet

Julie Doucet is a Canadian cartoonist and is known for My New York Diary and Dirty Plotte. According to Wikipedia, her work focuses on "sex, violence, menstruation and male/female issues." Charming!

Week 6: Robert Crumb

Robert Crumb came up with Fritz the Cat and Zap Comix, and apparently also has works that critisize and satirize American maistream.









Man, this guy's stuf is unpleasant to look at. Satire or not, that's just not a point in his favor.

Week 6: Daniel Clowes

Daniel Clowes is a writr and cartoonist of "alternative comic books," most notably Eightball and Ghost World.

David Beauchard is a French cartoonist and one of the founders of the comic publishing company L'Association, most noted for the graphic novel series l'Ascension du Haut Mal.
This guy seems to be a big an of large ammounts of black.
